Today’s Character Spotlight is on Ravenna, blue witch and current High Priestess of her coven.

Ravenna(MorgueFile Free photo)

Ravenna is a blue witch, meaning her power comes from water. She’s a hundred and seventy, which is kind of upper-middle-age as witches go. But she’s just hit her century mark as High Priestess, so the job is passing to the next witch in line.

Mysterious, powerful, and usually calm, Ravenna isn’t the easiest person to get to know. Her familiar, an otter named Barnaby, doesn’t speak to anyone but Ravenna. This pair might be old and quiet, but they can tear up some Darkness when needed.

A la the Actor’s Studio, let’s ask Ravenna some questions!

1. What is your favorite word?
River. It sounds comfortable, strong, safe. Like home to me.
2. What is your least favorite word?
Darkness. It reminds me of those I’ve lost to the enemy.
3. What turns you on?
Strength of character
4. What turns you off?
Greed
5. What sound do you love?
The voices of my coven sisters. They are more than family to me.
6. What sound do you hate?
The sound of mourning, for it means that I have failed in my duty to protect those I love.
7. What is your favorite curse word?
It is not in a language you’d understand.
8. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
Oh, child, I am too old now to have another job. I believe I have earned my retirement!
9. What profession would you not like to do?
I believe that everyone is capable of what they truly need to accomplish. So if I were needed somewhere, I would do it, no matter the cost.
10. What do you think of the crones’ decision to choose Delia as your successor?
Delia is young, but she has incredible power. I believe that she will be a find priestess, once she has come to grips with the idea.
