Jenny has been crushing on her older brother’s best friend for years. Spencer barely noticed her. And why would he? Hot guys never looked at curvy girls as anything but friends. They’d never been even that. But when he discovers her working as a waitress at Randy’s Diner, Jenny fears the news of her questionable employment will reach her conservative family’s ears before she’s had time to pay off her tuition.
Life is finally catching up with Spencer. His lack of a career, steady girlfriend, and future prospects has worried everyone but him until his younger brother marries first. Discovering his best friend’s little sister working the bachelor party rocks Spencer’s world in more ways than one. Now the one girl he should never lust after is the only thing he can think about.
This is the 3rd book in the Randy’s Diner series. New to Randy’s? No problem! The books can be read in any order.
In exactly one week Spencer would be the last unshackled member of the Atkinson family. Of course he was happy for his little brother. But his mother would never let him hear the end of it. He was the eldest, she’d say. He ought to have married first.Spencer glanced at his left side mirror, checking if it was safe to open the door. He was running late. Story of his life.
“I’m confused about this ‘strippers but not really strippers’ thing,” he said.
“They’re waitresses.” Kevin’s leg hung out the driver’s side of the dented Ford Bronco. “But Randy’s Diner’s waitresses don’t stay fully clothed.”
“So they’re waitresses who strip?”
Kevin craned his neck, checking the traffic along with Spencer. His voice slowed in hesitation. “Not exactly.”
Spencer shot impatient looks at the street and his cousin. “What exactly?”
“They stay clothed unless you tell them otherwise.”
“Why the fuck wouldn’t you make them strip?”
“Well…I guess some people might actually want to eat a burger.” Kevin lifted his narrow shoulders, eyes shifting to the left. “But they can’t actually strip because of the law or something. I don’t know. The waitresses keep their shirts and skirts on, they’re just usually stuffed in their armpits or around their ankles.”
Spencer snorted at the visual that popped into his head. “How is this sexy again?”
“It is. Just trust me.”
He grunted. “It had better be. Tim only gets one bachelor party.” A hole opened up in the traffic. He readied to run for it. “Frickin’ finally.”
Spencer charged out of the vehicle and around the hood, where he halted midstride at the traffic’s edge. That female darting across the street—the one with the strawberry-blonde, beach-waved hair, skintight shirt, and baggy jeans—was familiar. His groin tightened from a decade of memories.
It couldn’t be. Jenny Rees never wore clothes that might hint at her figure. And her hair hadn’t been out of a high ponytail since his best friend—her brother—had moved to town in eighth grade. But if that had changed…
“Spence.” Kevin’s voice was an impatient jab from the sidewalk. “We’re already late.”
“Yeah,” he muttered, shaking his head because Jenny also didn’t know how to drive. That female was in the process of making a three-point turn with swift precision in the middle of busy downtown.
He followed his cousin to the brick building that would have been nondescript had it not been for the storefront done entirely in reflective glass. Spencer shoved his hands into the pockets of the relaxed Diesel jeans that had been a gift from a girlfriend. He jerked his head, sending his shoulder-length sandy-brown hair around his profile before he could catch his reflection.
Kevin shoved through the double glass doors. Spencer followed close behind. He stopped near the entrance, taking in the interior with a keen eye.
For a place supposedly specializing in nearly naked waitresses, it certainly looked like a standard diner. Neon red signs for soft drinks and beer decorated the walls in between prints of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean. Aluminum tables coated with sparkled paint were sprinkled about the dining room. Red vinyl cushioned chairs held spots on each side.
A group of six males were clustered around a pair of tables at the center of the diner. Their raucous laughter proved them to be the bachelor’s party. Tim’s distinctive chortle broke through the noise. Someone shoved Tim toward the right half of the dining room.
The young man recovered from his stumble and spotted the new arrivals. “Spence! You came.”
Was that surprise in his brother’s voice? “Of course I did,” Spencer said, hiding irritation. “I wouldn’t miss my little brother’s last bash for the world.”
Tim rolled his pale blue eyes that matched Spencer’s own. “It’s not my last bash—”
“Just your last bash as a free man, which to my mind is the last bash.”
The young man shook his head much like their mother would. “Someday—”
“Shut it,” Spencer said before the male two years his junior could get to the part about settling down and churning out 2.3 babies.
A pair of palms went up in surrender. “Shutting it. You need a beer. They didn’t have light beer so we sent out for it. But there’s some regular draft.”
“Light?” Spencer snorted. “I don’t know why you drink that swill.” He cast a look around the place. “Where are the waitresses I’ve heard so much about?”
“We were waiting on you.”
“I’m here.” It was an uneasy response. Typically Spencer didn’t care if he made people wait. Typically he didn’t care about the people inviting him. He cared about Tim.
A smile split his little brother’s face. The kid strode for the diner’s proprietor with confidence Spencer wasn’t sure he’d ever seen in his brother.
Timothy had changed. He’d grown up. He seemed happy.
Good for him.
Spencer raked a hand through his hair, turning away so he could avoid his brother’s smiling face.
Missing the bachelor party hadn’t been an option. But attending would drive home the point Tim was getting married in a few short weeks. What Spencer hadn’t expected was to feel so old because of it.
Their mother had assumed she’d have at least one grandkid by now. How many times had she tutted in disappointment that Tim was marrying before the eldest? How many times had she asked when Spencer was going to settle down? Too many.
The answer was always the same. Why settle down when he was having fun?
The response was similarly repetitive. Was Spencer really having fun?
Why wouldn’t he be?
So what if his last roommate had gotten engaged and moved in with a long-time girlfriend. So what if the one before that now had a two-year-old daughter. Life was still fun.
Really, it was.
This wasn’t a good idea. Michael would never forgive him. But right now Spencer cared more about what Jenny thought than his best friend. Right now he needed her more than he’d ever needed Michael. He lowered his mouth to her breast, breathing in her floral scent. Warm. Summer. Jenny.
Spencer lifted his mouth so he could speak. “Are you drunk?”
Would she remember this tomorrow? Did he want her to? Yes. Fuck yes. “Am I taking advantage—”
“Shut up, Spencer, and kiss me.”
“I want to do more than kiss you.”
“You had better, since I’ll never speak to you again if you waste that condom.”
Five months avoiding her had weighed heavily on him. He understood that now.
Taking this step would change them forever. Yes, he wanted them to be changed, but not at the expense of losing her. If this went wrong, every time he visited home would be awkward. It wasn’t too late to put things back the way they were.
Spencer slid off her, slumping onto his back. He covered his eyes with his arm, picturing Michael’s frowning face. The erection wasn’t going to go down on its own.
“You’re drunk,” he said. “This is a major decision. I won’t make it for us both.”
A high-pitched sound came out of her. She punched the pillow above her. “Fine.”
Jenny lifted upright. His regret was instant. Spencer reached for her even though it was the worst idea.
She tossed a leg over him, levering herself onto his bare hip. “I’ll make it for us both.”
Her moist heat against his leg had his eyelids fluttering. One more qualm whispered in his mind. If things went wrong…
But he’d already been avoiding her. Things were already wrong. This was the only way to fix it.
Spencer remained motionless as she adjusted herself. He held his breath. In seconds everything would be different.
Jenny took hold of his cock. She drew her hand up, caressing pre-cum around his crown as she had months ago. Warmth washed over him. His body went limp.
“Last chance to stop me.” Her expert massage made thought nearly impossible.
“Never wanted anything so much,” he managed. “But—”
“I’ve wanted this, too. So it can’t be wrong.” Jenny lifted off him.
Spencer reached for her, only to hiss as she eased herself over his cock. A mere inch fit inside her before he exclaimed, “Oh, God, Jenny.”
He was going to come…already. No. He couldn’t fuck up his first time with her. He wouldn’t. But her lush body forming over his sensitive organ, it was too good.
“God,” he said again, hoping to distract himself. “You’re so fucking hot.”
“I’m so fucking fat.”
Spencer’s eyes jerked open. There was the distraction. He drew onto his elbows, staring at Jenny’s serious expression. “Are you joking?”
She smacked her hip, halting her slide down his cock. Jenny exhaled, clenching her inner muscles. He could do nothing but groan as the squeeze fluttered along his insides. But she continued the trip down. Finally.
Distraction, he needed to hold onto this one. “I always knew you hid a hot fucking body under your baggy clothing. But I hadn’t guessed how hot. Jenny, you’re perfect.”
Her lips puckered as she landed against his pelvis. “I’m not perfect.”
Straddling him, nude and self-conscious, there was only one thing he’d change—the self-conscious part. “I’m so close to coming. It’s never this fast. I’ve imagined this for years, but my imagination is nowhere near as good as reality.”
Jenny crossed her arms over her breasts. “It’s only because I’m supposed to be forbidden.”
“No, it’s because I’ve never been more attracted to someone.” Spencer lifted one of her hands, setting it to his hip, and then the other. “I’ll never speak to you again if you waste this condom.”
Her lips flirted with a smile. “You weren’t speaking to me anyway.”
He wasn’t ready for this conversation. What he was ready for was fucking her until she forgot the past five months.
Spencer caught her armpits and pulled to the side. Down Jenny went onto her back without a protest. He rolled over, taking the spot between her thighs he’d foolishly given up minutes ago.
Before she could remind him of his stupidity, Spencer occupied her mouth. He plunged his tongue and his cock inside of her, marveling at the wonderful heat she offered.
